Berkeley Group's Alice in Wonderland
Who is the Berkeley Group?
The Berkeley Group is one of the UK’s leading property developers, known for delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. The company focuses on creating sustainable communities across London, Birmingham, and the South East. Through thoughtful architecture and long-term planning, Berkeley developments combine modern living with green spaces, transport links, and local amenities.
St James, a member of the Berkeley Group, specialises in large-scale regeneration projects across London. Their developments often transform overlooked urban areas into vibrant neighbourhoods filled with homes, retail spaces, and landscaped environments. For this event, Berkeley invited guests to tumble down the rabbit hole and celebrate the opening of White City Living in true Wonderland style.
Stage One: The BRIEF
Our brief centred on delivering immersive entertainment for a prestigious investor event hosted by the Berkeley Group. International guests gathered to celebrate White City Living and the neighbouring apartments developed by St James. The client wanted the evening to feel distinctly British, elegant, and delightfully curious.
Alice in Wonderland quickly emerged as the perfect theme. Lewis Carroll’s whimsical world offered a playful blend of eccentricity, charm, and visual spectacle. Every detail needed enough topsy-turvy magic to impress overseas investors arriving in London from around the globe.
The experience aimed to transport guests into a real-life Wonderland filled with character interaction and surreal surprises. From the first sip of prosecco to the final selfie beside the Queen of Hearts, the evening needed to feel curiouser and curiouser at every turn.

STAGE TWO: The Venue
White City Living in Shepherd’s Bush provided the perfect stage for this Wonderland adventure. The luxury mixed-use development sits at the heart of an £8 billion regeneration project in West London. More than 2,300 homes nestle among landscaped gardens, water features, and open green spaces.
Located beside Westfield London and Imperial College’s new campus, the development blends modern architecture with calm outdoor areas. The central lawn space, overlooked by premium apartments, transformed beautifully into an oversized Wonderland garden party. Guests wandered through giant furniture displays, oversized whimsical mushrooms, and decorative “Eat Me” signs that pointed in every possible direction except the sensible one.
Shabby chic prosecco bars added sparkle beneath the evening sky, while life-sized fibreglass characters brought Lewis Carroll’s world to life. Decorative details appeared around every corner, ensuring the venue felt more Mad Hatter’s tea party than traditional corporate gathering. By nightfall, the space looked ready for a royal croquet match with prop flamingos, and a giant chess match.

Stage Three: Most everyone's mad here
The client wanted entertainment that would leave guests grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Our cast delivered a Wonderland line-up packed with circus skill, theatrical charm, and playful audience interaction. Alice welcomed visitors with elegance, while the Mad Hatter stirred up delightful nonsense among the crowd.
Towering above the lawn, the stilt walking Queen of Hearts ruled her kingdom with dramatic flair, alongside the Knave of Hearts. Nearby, the Mad March Hare bounced through the event with enough chaotic energy to send every pocket watch spinning backwards. The White Rabbit entertained guests with juggling and acrobatics, proving she really was late for a very important date.
Elsewhere, the Cheshire Cat twisted and stretched through mesmerising contortion routines. Tweedledum and Tweedledee lit up the evening with fire performances worthy of Wonderland’s wildest garden party. Absolom the Caterpillar drifted through the crowd creating giant bubbles, while the White Queen performed elegant aerial routines from a freestanding aerial rig.
Our team also provided colourful candy floss treats with customised flavours and vibrant designs. Roaming musicians Das Brass filled the venue with upbeat brass arrangements that turned pathways into a playful parade route. Their lively performances added another layer of British eccentricity to the evening’s curious celebrations.

STAGE four: The Reception
Guests embraced the Wonderland theme with enormous enthusiasm throughout the event. Cameras flashed as visitors posed beside performers, oversized props, and the whimsical décor. Many guests interacted directly with the cast, joining in with riddles, circus tricks, and spontaneous moments of silliness.
International investors responded especially well to the unmistakably British charm of the experience. The blend of luxury surroundings and playful entertainment created a memorable contrast that felt unique and engaging. Performers moved freely through the crowd, ensuring every corner of the venue felt alive with curiosity and spectacle.
As the evening unfolded, the atmosphere became merrier and more surreal. Guests danced beside roaming musicians, sampled candy floss beneath glowing lights, and wandered through the Wonderland scenery with wide-eyed delight. By the final toast, the event had truly become a tea party to remember.
