Beyond the boardroom, Sodexo understands the value of celebration and connection. Their events often blend creativity with hospitality, turning ordinary corporate gatherings into show-stopping occasions. For this Christmas event, they swapped spreadsheets for spotlights and rolled up the big top curtain on a spectacular circus-themed celebration.
Stage One: The Brief
Our brief focused on delivering immersive entertainment for Sodexo’s Christmas celebration. The theme combined the glamour of The Greatest Showman with the timeless charm of a traditional circus. Every element needed enough razzle-dazzle to make guests feel as though they had stepped straight into the centre ring.
The event took place at the Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes, a modern venue known for its flexible event spaces and central location. Spacious function rooms provided plenty of room for roaming entertainment and aerial performances. The client wanted guests to feel swept away by colour, spectacle, and carnival energy from the very first moment.
Stage Two: Welcome to the Big Top
The event space transformed into a vibrant circus wonderland bursting with colour and atmosphere. Carnival balloons in bright reds, yellows, greens, blues, and oranges framed the room like a scene from a travelling show. Festoon lighting twinkled overhead while coloured up-lights bathed the venue in warm theatrical tones.
LED star cloth backdrops added sparkle worthy of a standing ovation, while circus-themed table centrepieces tied the whole theme together. Every detail worked in harmony to create a space that felt playful, glamorous, and larger than life. Guests entered the room like eager ticket holders arriving for the greatest show in town.
The venue quickly buzzed with excitement as music echoed across the ballroom. Laughter, conversation, and spectacle filled every corner of the space. Guests embraced the spirit of the evening with huge enthusiasm from the moment they entered the venue. Many gathered around the performers for selfies, laughter, and playful interaction. Cameras flashed constantly as guests captured moments beneath the glowing big top style lights.
Stage Three: The Performers
Our cast delivered enough circus magic to keep the crowd walking the tightrope between amazement and disbelief. Towering stilt walkers greeted guests with larger-than-life charm, while a sword swallower brought danger and drama to the centre ring. Nearby, a contortionist twisted and folded with jaw-dropping flexibility that left audiences utterly bent out of shape.
Above the crowd, an aerialist performed graceful routines on a freestanding rig, adding elegance beneath the imaginary circus canopy. A snake charmer introduced an exotic touch to the evening, while a skilled juggler spun clubs through the air with carnival flair. He also manipulated a crystal contact ball, creating the illusion that it floated magically through his hands.
Throughout the night, performers mingled with guests and created countless photo opportunities. Their roaming presence kept energy levels soaring higher than a trapeze act. Every interaction added another splash of sparkle to the evening’s circus spectacle.
The dance floor filled quickly as the atmosphere gathered momentum throughout the night. Groups posed beside stilt walkers, marvelled at aerial performances, and cheered on the roaming entertainers. The combination of circus spectacle and Greatest Showman glamour created a celebration that truly stole the show.
